How Much Does a Surrogate Mother Make?
Unlike other countries such as England, the majority of surrogacy matches in the United States are paid arrangements. That is to say, most US surrogates receive compensation for the very valuable service they provide. Although payment amounts among independent matches vary greatly and are hard to speculate, the majority of the reputable surrogacy agencies offer women interested in becoming a surrogate mother a package valued between $24,000 to $45,000.
At ConceiveAbilities, we are proud to offer a package which begins at $43,000 and increases according to individual circumstances.

In this post, we aim to provide a little more detail on the three variables which are most likely to increase a surrogate’s compensation: her geographical location, whether she is a repeat or a first-time surrogate, and whether she becomes pregnant with a singleton or multiples.
As any experienced surrogacy professional would tell you, an applicant’s home state and sometimes even her country of residence can have major implications on the smooth-sailing of her match. There are several elements at play here. It is no secret that certain states provide a more amenable venue for surrogacy arrangements than others. Indeed, the state in which a surrogate lives, and thus, where her surrobaby is delivered, can have a monumental effect on the legal action required to secure parentage. So it makes sense then that some agencies offer compensation based on an applicant’s home state.
Our ConceiveAbilities’ Intake Team stands ready to help you better understand how your location might affect the compensation package we can offer you. Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have about this or any other surrogacy related issue.
Repeat surrogates are truly an elite group of women and we absolutely love working with them at ConceiveAbilities. These ladies “know the ropes” and their matches benefit from the calm, cool, and collected vibe that they bring into the mix. This is in part why ConceiveAbilities offers repeating surrogates an additional $5,000.
Singleton or Multiples
Transferring two embryos is not a guaranteed recipe for multiples, but there is no arguing that it certainly increases the odds. Of course, there are many a twin set alive today
who started off as just one embryo. Point being, the “number of guests” who show up to “the ultrasound party” can often be surprising. When a ConceiveAbilities surrogate becomes pregnant with multiples, she does receive five monthly payments of an additional $1,000 on top of her monthly base pay, for a total of an additional $5,000.
Ideal Location, Repeat, Carrying Twins
So to review, let’s talk about Jane. Jane is interested in working with ConceiveAbilities and she sees that our compensation package begins at $43,000. Jane notes that this is higher than what a lot of other agencies offer. Jane has been a surrogate once before and when Jane joins ConceiveAbilities she becomes pregnant with her Intended Parent’s twins. Considering all the above details, Jane’s compensation package would be at least $53,000.
