Is surrogacy legal in New York City, New York?
At this time, surrogacy agreements are not legal in New York State – although many organizations are currently advocating for this to change. In order for intended parents who live in New York to use surrogacy to build their families, they will need to work with a surrogate mother who lives in a state where surrogacy is allowed (such as Connecticut or Pennsylvania).
How does two-state surrogacy work?
Two-state surrogacy arrangements require special coordination of the surrogacy process, as the surrogate mother is required to live in a different state than the intended parents. ConceiveAbilities makes this process easier by coordinating and managing surrogacy contracts with intended parents and their surrogate carrier. We also work with future parents and their chosen surrogate to create an overall experience that meets the goals and expectations of each party, including arrangements for communication, travel, and more.
