The state of Illinois has one of the most surrogacy-friendly laws in the nation; second only to California, which uses case law. The Illinois Gestational Surrogacy Act, passed in 2005, helped streamline the surrogacy process, making it less complicated and much easier for both the intended parents and surrogates. Compensation For Chicago Surrogate Mothers

Requirements & Facts about Becoming a Chicago Surrogate Mother
There are several important factors that determine if one is suited to become a surrogate mother. Some of these surrogacy requirements are:
- Age between 21-39 years old
- BMI between 19-29
- Not underweight/under 100 pounds
- No history of gastric bypass
- Not currently on government financial support
- Given birth to and be raising at least one child
- Must provide OB/GYN records and a clearance letter
